The San Diego County Office of Education recruiting to fill a vacancy for a Coordinator, Student Support Services in the Student Support Services Unit of the Student Services and Programs Division. The Coordinator, Student Support Services, shall provide technical, specialized, consultative, advisory, and planning services in the department of Student Support Services to plan, organize, develop, recommend, and evaluate programs, processes, and procedures; conduct special studies and in-services; monitor legislation and provide interpretation and guidance. This position will have specific responsibility for working with student engagement and attendance issues, such as absenteeism, truancy, School Attendance Review Board (SARB), and community intervention resources. This position requires a valid CA Administrative Services credential and ONE of the following credentials:

  • CA Single Subject Credential, or
  • CA Multiple Subject Credential, or
  • CA Education Specialist Credential, or
  • CA Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling, School Psychology, School Social Work, or BPPS
In addition, the position also requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to: a bachelor’s degree in education, social work, sociology, psychology, or closely related field, and four (4) years of experience related to student engagement and leadership development, education, school-based counseling or social work case management, or mental health promotion. Experience must include: service as a school site administrator in a California public school; managing budgets and supervising staff. Experience with Restorative Practices is preferred. A CA driver's license is required at time of hire in order to travel to school districts and sites across San Diego County.
