The Santa Maria-Bonita School District is currently recruiting for an administrative position of Supervisor for Human Resources. Recruitment for this position will be done through EdJoin.
POSITION: Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, the Supervisor for Human Resources assists in the planning, organization, and coordination of the District Human Resources operational and management program functions.
SALARY: $88,106 - $102,138
WORK DAYS: 225 days, 12 months

QUALIFICATION SUMMARY: (refer to the attached job description for complete information)
Education – Equivalent to the completion of an Associate of Arts or higher degree with an emphasis in personnel management, business administration, employee/employer relations program
Experience – Five years of increasingly responsible professional Human Resource experience will be accepted in lieu of an Associate of Arts degree.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, the Supervisor for Human Resources assists in the planning, organization, and coordination of the District Human Resources operational and management program functions.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, organizes, supervises, assigns, and participates in the work of HR team members by providing clear direction to staff and monitoring daily attendance.

Manages activities pertaining to the recruitment, examination, interviewing, and selection of CSEA employees.

Assist ASHR in establishing and maintaining office timelines and priorities.

Serves as the designee for all CSEA Informal grievances.

Maintains and records CSEA and SMEEA grievances received and monitors the timelines.

Coordinates and/or directly prepares Board of Education agenda items. Maintain binder for Board Agenda items and monitor monthly routine board items for HR.

Create requisitions for supplies, materials, and equipment for the HR department.

Assists with directing and facilitating the implementation of the CSEA employee discipline program according to Education Code and negotiated agreements with the CSEA employee bargaining unit.

Provide assistance to managers involved in recommending discipline or dismissal of classified employees.

Assist in the administration of layoff processes and assist in the maintenance of the 39 Month Rehire List for classified staff.

Responsible for the maintenance and verification of the classified seniority list. Determine seniority according to established guidelines; establish and maintain accurate seniority lists.

Assist with CSEA negotiations--recorder and minute distribution.

Assist in the coordination and facilitation of Human Resources meetings.

Receptionist/Office Management to ASHR- Answering routine inquiries, maintaining calendar, Schedule appointments.

Supervise central filing system for employees and maintains sensitive and privileged files.

Prepares reports required by CDE, Board, ASHR, and Superintendent.

Assist in providing positive working relationships with Employees and the General Public

Assist in collection and development of personnel forms and procedures

Attend meetings as needed

Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible professional Human Resource experience will be accepted in lieu of an Associate of Arts degree.
