The Trinity County Office of Education is excited to announce an opening for a school psychologist. We serve nine school districts in beautiful, rural northern California. Located in the town of Weaverville, nestled in the heart of the Trinity Alps wilderness, we serve just under 1,500 students. Small school settings and caseloads allow us to make to personal connections with students, parents, and staff. Located just 45 minutes from Redding, Trinity County is easily accessible to big city convenience while maintaining that small town charm. Home to world renowned hiking, fishing, and kayaking, we hope you join our Trinity County team! Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education, the school psychologist works collaboratively with mental health staff to provide preventative strategies. With a current focus on multi-tiered systems of support, the school psychologist will work on behavior intervention, classroom management, social skills training, and mental health support. In addition, School Psychologists also support the process of identification and assessment of students for special education services. The Trinity County Office of Education supports active professional development for our school psychologists, including PENT (Positive Environments, Network of Trainers) and CAPTAIN (California Autism Professional Training and Information Network).
