Job Summary:
The position of Cloud Support Technician was established for the purpose/s of performing support to end users in the implementation of public and private cloud computing. This includes but not limited to provide support to end-users on the use of Citrix, Google Apps, DSUSD Cloud, and other private clouds. This position will be able to produce and manage documentation related to these activities which includes the maintenance of devices inventories, preparation of written instructions for cloud procedures and usage, cloud reporting, technical support, and training to end-users in classrooms and offices throughout the district. The use of cloud management tools, such as setting up cloud and security policies, diagnostic of hardware or software, remote management of devices, and the ability to provide basic cloud troubleshooting are essential to the performance of the duties of this position.
Essential Job Functions:
? Installs, Configures, and Upgrades, cloud-related applications on different computer devices, for the effective usage of equipment.
? Investigates, Troubleshoots, and Communicates to users of any changes in accessing private and public clouds and logins.
? Performs and Coordinates the inventory of cloud devices.
? Maintain and Apply security to cloud devices using cloud management features.
? Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written reference and /or conveying information.
? Responds to customer requests for the purpose of providing information and technical support.
Other Job Functions:
? Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
? Attends meetings as needed for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
? Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Essential Job Requirements - Qualifications:
? Skills required to perform in this position include strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to support users in different cloud implementations, applications, and devices.
? Knowledge required is to perform basic math, read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and solve practical problems.
? Ability to gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with applications (APPS) varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a wide variety of types of job-related computer devices. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is significant. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; establishing effective working relationships; displaying mechanical aptitude; communicating with technologically diverse groups; being attentive to detail; and working under time constraints.
? Responsibility: Responsibilities include working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job’s functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organization’s services.
? Physical Requirements: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands; significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing. The job is performed under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness and in a clean atmosphere.
? Education and Training Required: Customer services (3 years), School District experience, AA degree or equivalent (4 years) of clerical and secretarial experience.
Licenses, Certifications and Testing Required:
? Fingerprint/criminal justice clearance.
? Tuberculosis clearance.
? Structured job related testing.
? Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid California Drivers license.
? Evidence of Insurability.
