          Brief Description: St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School is seeking a junior high homeroom teacher for the 2018-19 school year. This is a full-time teaching position teaching with an emphasis on the junior high curriculum areas of science and math. It also includes participating in the kindergarten through 6th grade SVES community. The well-qualified candidate will be an experienced teacher with a Bachelor's Degree and a valid California Teaching Credential. Job Responsibilities: - Plan, implement, and evaluate instructional activities for groups and individual students for assigned classes and subject areas - Design lessons and assessments utilizing provided curriculum - Implement classroom management system in-line with school policies - Differentiate instruction and work with students with diverse learning needs - Utilize and integrate provided technology with curriculum on a daily basis - Enrich curriculum with field trip and guest speaker experiences - Communicate regularly with students, parents, and faculty - Participate in school sponsored events and community activities - Attend faculty meetings, inservices and individual educational planning meetings - Perform additional adjunct duties as assigned by the administration Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree and current California Teaching Credential Desired Qualifications: - Experience teaching at the intermediate level preferred. Instruction will include math, and science with the possibility of some language arts and religion - Experience with Instructional Education Plans - Enthusiasm for teamwork opportunities with staff - Practicing Roman Catholic Additional Requirements: - Ability to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time. - Ability to stand while instructing.. - Ability to move about inside the classroom and school to access file cabinets, office machinery, supplies etc. - Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machines, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. - Ability to frequently communicate with students, parents, other constituents regarding school information and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. - Ability to ascend/descend stairs throughout the school campus. - Ability to regularly move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds. - Ability to extend hands and arms in any direction. - Ability to bend, stretch, stoop or crouch. - Ability to grasp and hold files, papers, etc. - Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as reading documents, reviewing figures.
