The Baldwin Park Unified School District is recruiting for a District Police Officers. This position is located at the District Office, School Police Department. As a peace officer of the State of California authorized by Section 830.32 (b) of the California Penal code, and Education Code Sections 38000 et. Seq., is assigned to protect life and property in a large geographical area of the school district, responding to alarms and calls for assistance during all hours of the day and evening, and performs a variety of investigative and protective duties to provide police services in assigned areas in the district. Selection Process: Minimum Requirements: * Required Licenses/Certificates (a) Graduation from high school or GED is required (b) Completion of a California Peace Officer Standard and Training (CA P.O.S.T.) accredited academy is required *Departmental P.O.S.T. certification is in progress (c) Out-of-State applicants must meet the P.O.S.T. requirements **Experience: Approved basic training academy or its equivalent within the past three (3) years or have been employed as a CA Peace Officer within the past three (3) years ***Additional Requirements: District Police Officers will meet the and maintain physical and psychological requirements of P.O.S.T. Possess a valid California driver's license and be qualified to render basic First Aide and CPR (valid certificates required) Preference: Completion of applicable criminal justice courses in an accredited college The following must be submitted with your on-line application for interview consideration: (a) Resume (b) Two (2) current (within 2 year) letters of recommendation (c) Copies of valid First Aid and CPR Certificates (d) P.O.S.T. Baldwin Park Unified School District has agency shop and its members required to pay monthly dues described in the collective bargaining contract.
