Requirements / Qualifications

Performs the work of a skilled worker in the maintenance department, and repair of district facilities and minor construction projects including, construction, plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical, irrigation systems, and other related areas. Including the knowledge of: Arithmetic and basic computer system operation. Tools necessary for repair of buildings and facilities. Various crafts including painting, carpentry, plumbing, tac/arc welding, basic locksmithing, electrical, landscaping, lawn maintenance, and vehicle maintenance. Rules, regulations and laws governing construction practices and procedures. Preventative maintenance practices and procedures. Energy management software/ digital direct control. Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade or GED, passing score on a district written examination, the possession of a good driving record with appropriate valid California Driver’s License, in accordance with district insurance provisions, operate district-owned vehicles, the successful completion of an oral interview, position of water systems operator 1 certificate, TB and fingerprint clearance.
