About the Employer
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. Requirements / Qualifications
OCDE is looking for a dynamic Coordinator for the OCDE Project GLAD® (Guided Language Acquisition Design) National Training Center® to supervise, assign, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for coordinating and implementing the OCDE Project GLAD® model nationwide. This position will teach, coach, evaluate, assess and monitor growth utilizing the OCDE Project GLAD® NTC model and strategies, supporting K-12 classroom practioners. Trainings will take place in the form of 2-Day Research and Theory Workshop, 4-or 5-Day Classroom Demonstrations, Customized Follow-Up sessions, conducting Trainer in–Training Workshops and Demonstrations, rigorous Certifications and Recertifications. The person selected for this positon will provide assistance to higher level management staff and exercise direct supervision over professional, technical , and /or clerical staff. Shift requirements are full-time, Monday through Friday at Orange County Department of Education. Education, Training and Experience: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: •A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education, education administration, behavior management or a related field. •Five years of increasingly responsible educational experience including two years of administrative service in a public school setting. •A valid California teaching or service credential appropriate to the assignment There are supplemental questions in the application.
