About the Employer

Pope Valley Union Elementary School District is a rural, TK-8th grade, single-school, school district in Napa County.

Requirements / Qualifications

Requirements / Qualifications

Multiple subject credential (or out-of-state equivalent) is required. CLAD (if not included in credential) is also required.

MUST INCLUDE ALL DOCUMENTS SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS: Supplemental questions are required and are heavily weighted in the selection process. Please answer each of the following questions on a separate page and upload all pages together as a single PDF. 1) This is a small combination grade classroom (grades TK-1 2-3, 4-6, or 7-8 depending on experience and qualifications). Knowing this, please describe your experience with any (or all) of these grade level groups and how you would expect to differentiate your instruction. 2) Pope Valley Elementary School is a small rural place. Staff, parents, students, and community members all feel like a large family (and often work together as such). Discuss how you would become a part of the community. Please include any similar experiences in (or out of) education that may be relevant. 3) The biggest advantage of working in a small school is that you get to set your own style, your own pace, and often your own curriculum. This is also the biggest disadvantage in that your colleagues do not share the same grade-level as you. Describe how you would develop your classroom schedule, your pacing guides, your course outlines, deliver your instruction, etc.(this question is very open-ended; feel free to expand in any direction you chose).

  • Answers to Supplemental Questions (Submission must be in one PDF file with each question on a separate page.)
  • Copy of Transcript (Undergraduate conferring a degree and all graduate work (must equal at least 30 semester/45 quarter hours).)
  • Letter of Introduction (No more than one page.)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (3-5 letters of recommendation (not from a family member).)
  • Resume (Please limit to 3 pages. Must include references and all prior work in a school setting.)

  • Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development Certificate

  • Multiple Subject Teaching Credential - General Subjects (Preliminary or clear)
  •      OR  Other (Out-of-state credential/eligibility for CA credential based on out-of-state)
