Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: • Valid California Teaching Credential • At least three (3) years of successful public school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than one (1) year of which must have been in an advisor position. • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to multiple locations on a given day • Knowledge of model standards, course outlines, and competency-based instruction Preferred Qualifications: • Knowledge of the Adult Education Block Grant • Knowledge of the Los Angeles Regional Adult Education Consortium • Knowledge of District and Division policies and procedures • Experience gathering and analyzing data to measure key performance indicators • Strong written and verbal communication skills, highly organized and able to meet deadlines All minimum requirements must be met on or before the filing deadline. Job Description: Teacher Adviser will assist in ensuring Division compliance with Adult Education Block Grant requirements. Duties: • Monitors compliance with the consortium’s districts expenditures as written in LARAEC’s Regional Comprehensive Plan (RCP). • Assists with the preparation and monitoring of multiple budgets. • Facilitates services and support to ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines, regulations and laws • Develops, coordinates, and implements pilot programs consistent with LARAEC’s RCP. • Provides technical assistance to schools with the implementation of LARAEC’s RCP strategies, pilots, workgroups, and programs. • Reviews and monitors pilots, new programs, and strategies implementation reports. • Works with administrators, teachers, students, parents, and the community to increase awareness of adult education programs. • Collects and analyzes data for program monitoring • Assists schools and workgroups with preparation of program parameters and reports • Attends meetings and maintains partnerships with various community, public, and private organizations • Assists with the preparation and processing of contracts for Division services, including interfacing with applicable District offices • Monitors workgroup program goals, enrollment objectives, program growth, and collection of student data • Assists with the preparation of private, state and federal grant applications materials • Assists with the preparation and responses to state and consortium requests for information and/or audits • Performs other duties as assigned.
