Crook County School District (OR) Invites applications for the position of Superintendent Location: Prineville, Oregon Enrollment: 3,000 students Base Salary: $130,000 to $150,000 plus benefits Closing Date: Feb. 16, 2018 (open until filled) Start Date: July 1, 2018 The Crook County School District Board of Directors is seeking an educational leader with an outstanding record of achievement to serve as Superintendent beginning July 1, 2018. The District is governed by a five-member school board, which is supported by a community that values education. The staff is composed of approximately 165 licensed staff, 165 classified staff, and approximately 28 administrators, supervisors and district office staff. Crook County School District prides itself on the achievements of its students and staff. The District serves about 3,000 students in one high school, one middle school (grades 6-8), two in-town elementary schools (grades K-5), two rural schools that serve students K-8 in Paulina and in Brothers, one alternative high school, and other alternative programs. The District sponsors a “place-based” charter school located in Powell Butte, which serves students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The District also offers a wide spectrum of AP courses, professional technical programs, fine arts, and foreign language. In 2013 voters of Crook County approved a $33.5 million school bond measure to build a new elementary school and to refurbish other existing buildings.
