COACHELLA VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT COORDINATOR - CURRICULUM & STAFF DEVELOPMENT A. Description of Position: Provides leadership in planning, development, implementation and coordination of the District's K-12th curriculum, special events, evaluation data and instructional goals. B. Supervision Received: Director of Curriculum & Staff Development C. Prime Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Develop, administer and serve as a resource for District staff development programs. 2. Foster an increase in student achievement. 3. Direct curriculum development in assigned areas. 4. Identify and analyze all important facets of instructional problems and issues; develop solution strategies and improve curriculum delivery. 5. Be familiar with current curricular practices and research. 6. Develop instructional dialogue with key personnel. 7. Serve on all appropriate committees. 8. Create and edit all publications, curriculum outlines and instructional guides and materials. 9. Coordinates the selection and adoption of textbooks for the District in cooperation with the Director of Curriculum & Staff Development. 10. Support the accomplishments of the District goals. 11. Assist with program evaluation, positive staff relations and instructional communications in the District. 12. Participate in professional growth activities. 13. Perform other duties as assigned. D. Required Qualifications: 1. Valid California teaching credential with a CLAD authorization. 2. Valid California credential in administrative services/supervision or eligibility for an administrative Intern Credential applied for by college/university.* 3. At least three years of teaching experience. E. Desired Qualifications: 1. Experience in curriculum planning, staff development and bilingual programs/English Language Learners (ELL). 2. Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish. F.
