Job Summary

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Train and assist staff (e.g. general education teachers, instructional assistants) in implementation of individual education programs for children with disabilities. • Implement evidence based curricular and support resources for students requiring specialized materials designed to facilitate appropriate progress toward IEP/504/RtI/MTSS goals • Provide support to the general education program through student observations, student interviews, consultation with Student Study Teams and Section 504 teams. • Provide training to general education staff related to support of general and special education students within the classroom. • Monitor SIRAS database and complete general user level SIRAS administrative duties as required. • Participate in SELPA and other meetings/trainings as directed by the director of special education. • Serve as Chairperson for Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings; assist in developing IEPs. • Assist in the development and/or facilitate the completion of student referrals for assessment. • Notify all assessment personnel, when appropriate, of referrals, requested re-evaluations, and triennials; and monitor due process timelines. • Conduct initial educational assessments for students at assigned centers with no previous special education enrollments; assist in interpreting data to parents and professionals. • Conduct triennial and requested re-evaluation assessments for current special education students assigned to caseload; assist in interpreting data to parents and professionals. • Monitor timelines for annual and triennial reviews for current special education students assigned to caseload. • Schedule Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings for students assigned to caseload. Extend invitations to appropriate school and agency personnel, parents, and students (when appropriate). • Complete IEP paperwork for all students assigned to case
