Education Consultant K-8 Literacy at Center for the Collaborative Classroom

Center for the Collaborative Classroom is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to providing continuous professional learning for teachers and curricula that support the academic, ethical, and social development of children. The organization brings to bear 51 years of collective experience from two leading educational nonprofit organizations: Developmental Studies Center (DSC) and Cornerstone Literacy, Inc. (CLI). We’re seeking a full-time Education Consultant to promote the work of CCC.
We currently have an opening in the San Francisco Bay Area. This position requires the ability to travel 3-4 days per week within the employee's home territory. There is an additional 10-15% out of state travel for training and events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Implementation
- Understand local funding and initiatives and recognize how CCC programs can support these needs
- Identify potential schools and districts to set up pilots of CCC programs
- Build relationships with state and local associations to have CCC as a key partner in the professional development offering for their administrators and teachers
- Set up meetings with key decision makers in local districts to share CCC programs
- Identify relevant conferences and apply to have CCC present and exhibit (where appropriate)
- Plan online campaigns with CCC’s internal marketing team
- Identify, set up, and host CCC Events that invite educators to professional learning opportunities typically focused on the following:
- Best Practices in reading and writing
- Intervention for struggling readers
- Collaborative Classroom core principles
- Common Core implementation
Managing the Pipeline for Future Implementations
- Work with schools and districts piloting CCC programs to set up professional development and benchmarks to measure the pilot impact
- Manage a sequence of contacts with potential schools and districts that have expressed interest in CCC programs.
- Utilize current customer list to check in on implementation, set up professional development supports, and expand CCC programs
- Follow up with educators who attend CCC hosted events
Supporting Implementation
- Work with CCC inside personnel to assist schools and districts with quotes and purchase orders for schools and districts
- Coordinate with Regional Director and Director of Professional Learning to plan and schedule implementation support
- Check in with district leaders throughout implementation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years experience in professional development, teaching, coaching, and or administration
- Knowledge of K–8 pedagogy and best practices
- Understanding of the current teacher effectiveness frameworks (i.e. Marzano, Danielson)
- Experienced presenter with adult learners
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally nationally
- Confidence interacting with key decision makers and purchasing office personnel
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills: Mac, Internet, Salesforce, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and shared filing systems
- Data savvy and able to prioritize, plan, and execute sales strategies in a fast-paced work environment
Territory Includes the Following Counties:
San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Monterey, San Benito, Solano, and Yolo
