Our Community School is looking for a 7th/8th grade English-Language Arts Teacher

Major responsibilities include: to plan and implement a standards-based curriculum combining English standards with critical thinking. To provide an effective, respectful room environment, to help students develop self-monitoring skills and critical thinking. To provide continual assessment, maintain records and to use data to guide instruction. To actively strive for open communication with parents. To work collaboratively with our professional learning community especially with the middle school team.

Abilities needed: Strong content knowledge and an understanding of child development for middle school aged students. strong communication skills, creativity, flexibility, a sense of humor, good organizational skills, self-motivation, a positive attitude and self-confidence. OCS needs a teacher to be a team player who exhibits a sense of stewardship in the work setting.

Qualifications: a valid CA teaching license in single-subject credential in English Language Arts.
