Gabriella Charter Schools is composed of two high-performing, dance-themed charter schools in the Los Angeles community. GCS 1 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Echo Park. GCS 2 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Historic South Central. Gabriella Charter School, a high-performing, art-themed K-8 charter school located in the Echo Park community of Los Angeles, is hiring for elementary and middle school After-School Instructors. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are energetic, organized, and love working with children.

 Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of 60 semester college units or 90 quarter college units 
  • Two years experience working with children (grades 1-8) 
  • Out-going and congenial personality
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • The ability to speak Spanish is desirable, but not required
  • The knowledge and background to lead one or more of the following clubs: Sports, Drill Team, Cheer, Drama, Arts & Crafts, Computer Technology, Gardening, etc. 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of all students in the program at all times.
  • Create lesson plans for fun, skill-based learning activities.
  • Lead fun outdoor and indoor structured activities that provide physical education.
  • Oversee and support students with homework assistance.
  • Provide academic and enrichment/recreational activities to groups of 16-20 children.
  • Establish and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Use positive behavior and classroom management techniques with children.
  • Communicate and work effectively with students, staff and parents.
  • Ensure that classroom and program spaces are clean, organized and safe.
  • Record and maintain daily attendance and other documentation as required in a timely manner.
