Job Summary

Under the supervision of the director of the Student Support Services- Foster/Homeless Youth Services Coordinating Program, performs technical duties in serving as a liaison between schools, group homes, substitute care providers, placing agencies, and others to ensure that the educational needs of students in foster care are met; organizes and oversees activities for a variety of Foster/Homeless Youth Services projects including tutoring, mentoring, transition services, and emancipation programming to postsecondary education. This position may be placed on the Teacher Salary Schedule (185 days a year) or part of the Classified Employee Unit (260 days a year) at MCUSD/MCOE and will be placed depending on experience on the Classified Employee Salary schedule on Range 25. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: ? Any combination of experience and training in these related fields: Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Education requirement may be substituted by work experience of a closely related nature. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ? Two years of experience working with foster youth and/or at-risk youth on educational planning and/or case management ? Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field. ?
