Job Summary
Duties and Responsibilities Recommend the hiring of, train and supervise staff. Implement the four pillars of CCSPP, including integrated Student Services, Extended Learning, Family Engagement and Shared Leadership. Lead MCOE in the implementation of a county-wide mental health support system for preschool through graduation. Support districts and their school sites in the implementation of an integrated system of student support for students from preschool through graduation (ex. Integration of School climate, attendance improvement, drop-out prevention/recovery, PBIS, Restorative Practices, MTSS, and Professional Learning Communities). Conduct a needs assessment by working with school administrators, teachers, partner agencies, parents and students to identify barriers to learning, available resources, and gaps in services. Identify, engage, and recruit partners to offer programs and services for students and families based on the community’s needs assessment. Develop administrative agreements/MOUs with partners to provide services. Assist directly with information sharing and referral services to maintain an effective referral process to community resources. Write required reports for grant funding and meet required time-lines. Facilitate evidence-informed prevention programs focused on SEL skill-building and application. Using data and systems perspective for students in need of intervention and recommend changes at the school level or strategies for use at home to support students as they learn new skills. Monitor, document, and report academic, behavior, and attendance progress of individual students and make recommendations for appropriate interventions and systems change at the site and district level. Participate and use various data resources to assess school and county/district-wide social problems and situations interfering with students’ access to an optimal education experience. Requirements / Qualifications
Possession of a valid California license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a marriage, Family Therapist (MFT), Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Experience working in children’s mental health and/or early intervention. Demonstrate competence in communicating effectively with children and parents, staff members and representatives of other agencies. Familiarity with student services/support programs for underserved students and families, or priority populations. Hold a valid California’s driver’s license.
