Our Organization - Serving East San Jose through Education The Foundation for Hispanic Education (TFHE) was established in 1981 as a product of the late Dr. B. Roberto Cruz’s vision of providing quality education and support for all underserved learners, with a focus on Latino students. With 106 committed staff members, TFHE now serves over 1,050 students from the community neighborhoods of Mayfair, Mt. Pleasant, Sylvandale, Santee, and Alum Rock in East San Jose. TFHE operates three charter high schools.

Job Summary
The Director of Technology is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating the design, development, and implementation of support programs to ensure that digital learning and teaching resources are effectively integrated into classroom instruction around the California State Standards. Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, this individual is primarily responsible for supporting teachers in the use of technology for the purpose of teaching and learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -Minimum of a BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field -Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the area of Technological Services, including no less than 3 years supervisory experience. -Experience with databases, network administration (including wireless and firewalls), G-Suite for Education administration, and information technology resources and services is important. -3+ years experience with Powerschool management and oversight -Strong familiarity with typical school hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, interactive projectors,) and typical software (Apple platform, G Suite including Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides, Microsoft Suite, web-based applications, licensing, databases, etc.) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: -MA degree preferred -3+ years experience with computer/server hardware and software or network design and architecture experience -5+ years supervisory experience -Technical Education Credential -Powerschool University Certification
