Job Summary
Valley View Charter Prep is looking for an experienced K-12 counselor with a strong knowledge of high school to be effective with middle school students as well as accessing dual enrollment and planning. The right candidate should be experienced in academic, career, social, and emotional counseling to meet the needs of all our students. This position will require one day a week on average in-person in Walnut Creek or Pleasant Hill.
Requirements / Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in psychology, child development or related field. A Master’s degree is desirable. Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential Other qualifying experience in student academic/career counseling Experience in a homeschool and/or independent study model preferred

Seeking qualified counseling candidates for the remaining of the 23/24 School Year! We are looking for an exceptional school counselor to provide academic, career, social and emotional support to our students K-12th grades. SST/504 and WASC experience desired, but not required.
Valley View Charter Prep is an independent study school model and supports nearly 700 students K-12th grade throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Pacific Charter Institute, VVCP’s parent organization, offers a unique instructional model serving homeschool and independent study students across 16 counties through Heritage Peak Charter School, Rio Valley Charter School, Valley View Charter Prep, and Sutter Peak Charter Academy.
PCI offers full time employees a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision and STRS for certificated staff. A 401k plan is available for ALL STAFF (including part-time) with an employer contribution.
