ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Finance, the Accounting Associate will support all day-to-day finance operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management. The Accounting Associate will also assist in budget variance analysis, financial reporting, auditing, and statistical review of financial transactions. The Accounting Associate will work closely with program leaders, and their staff, to provide technical and procedural support. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES ? Follow procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirements. ? Ensure timeliness of reconciliations and closing of books on a monthly and annual basis. ? Support payroll processing, bank reconciliation, and related reporting requirements. ? Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information, including preparing special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. ? Support interim and year-end financial audit, 403(b), and 990 reporting by preparing for annual audit schedules and submissions and act as the primary point-of-contact for auditor requests. ? Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures. ? Ensure expenditures are consistently aligned with program budgets throughout the fund period. ? Recommend areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes. ? Strengthen internal communications to create and promote a positive and supportive work environment. OTHER FUNCTIONS: ?
