Job Summary

The Alternative Education Teacher provides academic instruction to students in community school settings. The teacher provides direct instruction in the core academic content areas to support student progress and provides special education services, as per the students’ Individual Education Plans (IEP).

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Experience working with students with physical or emotional disabilities and/or students in an alternative education setting. • Credential Requirement (MUST submit documentation from EACH of the categories below): *Category #1 - General Education Credential (Multiple or Single Subject): Clear or Preliminary Intern Eligible Enrollment in a Credential Program *Category #2 – Education Specialist Instruction Credential in any specialty area: Clear or Preliminary Intern Eligible Enrollment in a Credential Program Please note: Applicant MUST possess a clear or preliminary credential FROM Category 1 OR 2 as the minimum. This is a dual credential position.

NECESSARY MATERIALS FOR APPLICATION • Completed Ed-Join online application; • Current Resume; • Documentation that proves qualification in EACH Credential category listed above; • Minimum of one current letter of reference (dated within the last three years).
