Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Special Education, provide specialized support to students with mental health needs within the educational setting who qualify under an individualized education plan. Collaborate with school staff, teachers, administrators, and parents to identify students who may benefit from Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS). Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the mental health needs of identified students. Develop individualized intervention plans to support the emotional and behavioral needs of each student. Provide counseling, therapy, and intervention services to students in individual, home or group settings. Monitor and track the progress of students receiving ERMHS and make adjustments to intervention plans as needed. Facilitate workshops and training for school staff and parents to create a supportive and understanding environment for students with mental health challenges.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Master’s degree in Social Work and/or related field; and three years of therapy experience as an LCSW working with a community services or social work organization involving at risk children and families, preferably in a supervisory role. Two years’ experience providing clinical supervision. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) with a specialization in School Social Work (PPS/SSW) preferred Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) preferred Bilingual Spanish preferred.
