Requirements: 1) CDE Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher Please note: To meet this requirement candidate must qualify for the CDE Child Development Permit within 12 months of employment by showing proof of 12 Semester units in early childhood education or child development, including at least one course of at least 3 semester units in each of the following core areas: a) Child/human growth and development; b) Child, family and community, or child and family relations; c) Programs/curriculum Applicant must apply for CDE Child Development Associate Teacher Permit within 12 months of employment through Form 41-4 application for CDE Child Development Associate Teacher Permit. 2) 3 Semester Units in infant/todller early childhood education 3) High School Diploma or GED equivalency 4) Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing and mathematics based on one of the following options: a) Copy of A. A. or A.S. degree (or higher) AND pass Part C of CODESP exam OR b) 48 semester units at an institution of higher education AND pass Part C of CODESP exam OR c) Pass Part A, B, and C of the CODESP equivalency exam (District written exam) 5) Child and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 30 days of employment.
