About the Employer

We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Basic Function: Under the direction of the Director of Special Education or designee, will conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and create effective Behavior Intervention Plans and Behavior Support Plans for students who receive behavior intervention services. Perform a variety of specialized duties in the direct services, consultation, analysis, treatment and monitoring of identified students with behavioral challenges; create, plan, organize, coordinate, and implement supportive services to assist staff and families in the development and services of comprehensive behavior intervention plans for selected students; collaborate and train with faculty, staff and families in the design, development and implementation of strategies, Behavioral Support Plans (BSP’s), Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP’s), Individualized Educational Programs (IEP’s), and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP’s) to meet the needs of students; train and monitor Para educators with behavior plan implementation. Successful completion of all requirements for board certification including the passage of State certification examination. Two years of experience working as a behavior specialist in public education classrooms involving the design and implementation of behavior intervention plans and strategies of applying principals of applied behavior analysis (ABA) with school aged children. Experience of functional behavior assessments and functional analysis assessments. Licenses and other requirements: Board Certified Behavioral Analyst Certification, valid California driver’s license, valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency.
