Job Summary
ELOP STEAM Camp staff will be hired as substitute teachers and provide instruction for the District's summer program from June 20th to July 14th. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (8 hours per day, 5 days a week M-F). The teacher hourly rate is $44.69. It is the expectation of staff hired for STEAM Camp to be available for the duration of the program and to attend four (4) mandatory professional development/training/informational meeting/planning days, for a total of 20 days.
Requirements / Qualifications
Candidates must hold a current California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.

STEAM Camp will provide a 4-week intensive intervention program to students in grades 1-5. Our STEAM Camp will also provide an ongoing, rigorous, supportive and accountable in-person program for eligible students across district campuses in order to address literacy and mathematics needs of participating students.
STEAM Camp General Information:
Program Dates (16): June 20th – July 14th (Monday through Friday)
- Additional Dates (4): Four (4) mandatory PD/ Meeting/Planning/Cleanup dates:
- June 14th to 16th PD/Staff Meeting/Planning - 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (6.5 hours)
- July 17th Grading/Data Collection/Cleanup, 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (6.5 hours)
- July 3rd - 5th Non-Student Days (NO STEAM Camp - Unpaid)
Work Hours:
- Teaching Staff: 7:50 a.m. - 4:20 p.m.* (8 hours)
*includes one-half (1/2) hour unpaid lunch break
Pay Rates:
- STEAM Camp Teachers - $44.69 per hour (20 days)
- STEAM Camp Substitutes - $180 per day (8 hours)

Number of Teaching Staff:
- It is anticipated that we will need approximately 12 General Education teachers.
