Job Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent, Business Services, or designee, plan, organize, and participate in responsible and technical fiscal record management, audit, and reporting functions and activities; monitor the financial records of the District’s grants and entitlements; assure budgets and expenditures are in compliance with funding terms. ABILITY TO: Perform responsible and technical accounting, audit and fiscal record management and reporting functions. Prepare fiscal, statistical and narrative reports in a clear and concise manner. Effectively review, monitor, audit and verify financial statements, summaries and related reports. Posses the manual dexterity to effectively and efficiently operate computer terminals and other machines and equipment. Analyze situations accurately and develop effective course of action. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Plan and organize work. Work confidentially with discretion. Operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Meet schedules and time lines.

Applicant should have knowledge of practices and procedures concerning state and federal compliance issues, accounting and financial record management, and reporting systems. Applicable laws, codes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to accounting, budget development, expenditure control and fiscal record management and reporting processes. Operation of a computer and assigned software programs. Accounting, budget planning and fiscal record management storage and retrieval systems. Interpersonal skills including tact, patience, and courtesy. Oral and Written communication skills. Modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Principles and practices of supervision and training. Financial and statistical record-keeping techniques. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: a four (4) years degree in finance, accounting or related field and four years of responsible experience in accounting and financial record management including experience in fund accounting and California school accounting practices.
