Job Summary
The Wasco Union High School District is seeking an outstanding instructional leader to assume responsibilities as Principal of Wasco High School. The District seeks a strong, dynamic team player who can articulate the goals and needs of the District, and follow through on monitoring results. The Wasco Union High School District provides a comprehensive education program for approximately 1800 students. Masters Degree and five years of successful classroom experience preferred. An Administrative Credential or Certificate of Eligibility appropriate to the position is required. Exceptional Benefits Package: Full Health, dental, vision, prescription and life insurance are provided by the District with no employee contribution for the employee and eligible family members.
Requirements / Qualifications
The Principal shall be directly responsible to the Superintendent and shall carry out the general policies of the District as established and approved by the Superintendent and the Board of Trustees;
Required Qualifications: • Supervises and evaluates the performance of all assigned personnel; provides counseling and assistance as needed; recommends appropriate action in cases of substandard performance; identifies and encourages individual teachers who demonstrate leadership potential • Interprets and implements District approved curriculum programs in relation to identified student needs • Identifies, provides, assigns and coordinates in-service educational growth opportunities for assigned personnel. • Directs the development of the master schedule of classes, providing for the appropriate assignment of personnel and students to the master schedule • Develops plans and organizational procedures for the health, safety, discipline and conduct of students in accordance with District policy • Directs, administers, and oversees the work of classified staff members; monitoring all educational support/facilities operations and activities on a continuous basis • Successful classroom experience, secondary desired • Ability to make decisions and provide leadership • Ability to work effectively with staff, students, parents and the community • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills • Technologically literate
