Graduation from high school or the equivalent. Knowledge of modern cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial, light maintenance, and grounds care. The ability to operate heating and ventilating equipment. Ability to lift 60 pounds from the floor and arm lift. Ability to climb ladders to a height of two stories. Ability to stand and sit for long periods. Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work cooperatively with administrators, principals, teachers, students and other personnel.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Materials, tools, equipment used in custodial, maintenance, and grounds keeping work Modern cleaning methods Safety practices Basic record keeping Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy ABILITY TO: Perform custodial duties at District sites as assigned Operate and maintain cleaning equipment Maintain buildings and grounds in a clean, orderly, and secure condition Work independently with little direction Lift goods or equipment Maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance Sit and stand for long periods Observe health and safety regulations Able to speak, read and write in English Communicate effectively with others Bend at the waist, kneel, or crouch Reach overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally Move hands and fingers to perform job functions See to read printed materials
