Job Summary
Being a Nevada County Consortium Sub gives you access to substitute teach for all public school districts in Western Nevada County and three charter schools. All candidates interested in substitute teaching in Nevada County must hold a valid teaching credential or valid substitute teaching permit.

All substitute teachers who hold an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit are required to participate in an approved substitute teacher training upon acceptance into the Nevada County Substitute Teacher program. * Complete the online Substitute Teacher Training Program with a passing Sub Assessment composite score of 85% or better OR * Provide documentation of previous participation in STEDI.org
Hiring Requirements, if offered a position: * Pass a Criminal Background Check * Provide documentation of a negative TB test within the last four years * Complete the online Mandated Child Abuse Reporting Educators Training for School Personnel from the Public School Works (free) with a passing score of 80% of better * Attend an orientation and complete employment paperwork * Must work at least 10 days in a school year to remain on the Nevada County Substitute Consortium list.
