Salary Schedule 16, Range 35, $420.59 – $536.84 daily. Placement is dependent on experience. Annual stipend pay: Master's $750 or Doctorate $1,250 (Prorated upon hire).
Length of Work Year
7.5 hours per day/Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm/12 months/260 days annually (Prorated upon hire)

This position qualifies for CalPERS retirement. The employee contribution rate for CalPERS is either 7% or 8% of monthly earnings depending on the membership date. The Butte County Office of Education (BCOE) is located in Northern California and serves 13 districts and 17 charter schools in Butte County and provides services to students and educators in all 58 California Counties and employs 1500 people in Butte County and across the state.

Job Summary

Job Summary

This position works closely with the County Superintendent, BCOE Cabinet members, and school leaders throughout the county in addressing school safety and emergency preparedness needs of the BCOE schools, local school districts, and charter schools throughout the county. In addition to the duties and qualifications listed in the job description, ideal candidates for this position would have experience with disaster prevention and mitigation, school violence prevention strategies, and youth mental health and suicide prevention. Experience with conducting training in a variety of school safety-related matters and demonstrated ability in building rapport across a variety of groups including first responders, teachers, and district staff is also desirable. Candidates with a law enforcement or emergency management background who also have experience working with schools are encouraged to apply.
