THE POSITION: The Coordinator III, Equity and Access shall provide technical, specialized, consultative, advisory, and planning services to LACOE staff and Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in the areas of equity and inclusion. The Coordinator III will plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate programs and services focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion, both in local LEAs and LACOE. This position will coordinate and align support with the LACOE Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office. The Coordinator III will provide professional development, on-site technical assistance, and guidance to ensure equitable policies and practices with emphasis on at-promise and underserved communities, including students of color and underrepresented student groups. Additionally, the Coordinator III shall provide specific supports for L.A. County Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) programs. This support will be in the form of professional development and technical assistance that promotes equitable student identification, equitable program models, and classroom instruction that promotes the acceleration of learning through a focus on depth, complexity, and differentiation.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience that would be likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related, and progressive educational administration experience. Including three years of professional development experience in equity and access or a closely related field. Education: Equivalent to a Master’s degree in education or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (Must attach a detailed certification/credential with document number to application. Internal and external applicants, please provide a copy of each credential document as it appears on the California Teaching Credential website with the document number on it.): • Possess and maintain a valid Teaching Credential K-12. • Possess and maintain a valid Supervisory or Administrative Services Credential.
