This is a Coveted 1st grade position teaching students that just experienced a stellar two year Kindergarten program. The candidate will stay with the students 1st through 5th grade, and co-plan with an Educational Specialist and an aide in the classroom. River Oak Charter School, located in the Ukiah Valley just before the Gateway to the Redwoods, is looking for an educator commited to guiding children toward a life-long love of learning, creative thinking, and a responsible, sympathetic interest in the world. Join our ROCS family where the teachers work collaboratively together every day. Our inservice will be at a retreat on the California Coast. We serve over 240 students in grades TK-8 with art, music, drama, storytelling, poetry, and crafts, woven throughout the curriculum. Students experience a rich program including Specialty teachers as well as their "Main Lesson" teacher. Teachers who are willing to attend a Waldorf summer training and are willing to be mentored by a Waldorf instructor should apply. We are a highly developed Waldorf-Inspired program.
