Established in 2008, Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference is a youth-driven organization with Education and Community Engagement Programs that use the service-learning strategy to inspire and empower youth in leadership and service. Hands4Hope strives to develop and nurture youth leaders in our community into socially responsible, civic-minded residents who have compassion for others; who engage in action to bring about change; and who work for a safe, vital community. Hands4Hope youth create and plan their own projects to support local charities and address unmet community needs. Along the way, they gain experience and skills. The role of the Communications & Fundraising Coordinator is to coordinate all external communication for the organization to create momentum for and awareness of Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference programs and activities and to coordinate and implement online fundraisers.

Primarily in charge of creating and disseminating organization and program messaging through: - Social Media posts targeted at both youth and adults - creating and implementing social media campaigns directed at each of these audiences - Monthly Newsletters - Youth and Partner Spotlights - Press Advisories/Releases - Website management - Youth messaging/video updates - Assist with fulfillment of fundraising campaigns and fundraisers - Assist with donor communications as needed

Qualifications and job requirements: REQUIRED SKILLS: Education and Experience: - Experience: Two to three years of experience working with a non-profit organization (may include working as an employee or a volunteer), experience with social media marketing and event planning, and hands-on experience with office machines (printers, computers, etc.). - Education: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a similar field, or at least four years experience working in a marketing and/or communications role. - Ability to interface well within all facets of Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference and represent Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference in a highly professional manner. - Must demonstrate proficient skills in graphic design for social media, targeting an audience with messaging, and maintaining a positive and varied social media presence - Must have some experience writing and/or editing press advisories and releases; working with the media - Must have proficient skills in G Suite, Canva, and Constant Contact, or a similar applications/programs - Must have experience in website management - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and have a working knowledge of PowerPoint - Must have experience soliciting donations or in sales - Must have the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts as required for bookkeeping and budget support. Knowledge and Abilities: Must have: - Ability to work weekdays between 9:00am and 4:00pm; with ability to flex hours based on meetings and events - Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required - Organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills needed - Desire and ability to mentor and work with middle and high school youth - Excellent attention to detail with good editing and proofreading skills - Knowledge of different CMS platforms - Event planning capabilities - Drive to be proactive with excellent planning skills
