Requirements / Qualifications

The Migrant Seasonal Head Start Program is accepting applications for Custodian. The duration of this assignment is until 11/09/23. SELECTION PROCEDURE: Individuals interested in employment are required to complete an official district application. Applicants are asked to describe any training, education, experience, or skills relevant to this position. Resumes are optional. Applications will be screened based on the minimum qualifications shown for this position. Qualified candidates will be identified at each step of the selection process for further consideration. Fingerprinting and criminal record checks will be done on all prospective employees.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Performs routine custodial and grounds cleanup at school and related facilities. Requires general knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in custodial care and routine facilities maintenance. Requires thorough knowledge of the buildings and grounds of the assigned site. Must have a good knowledge of work hazards and safety procedures. Requires some knowledge of chemical reactions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Reading, writing, and verbal skills sufficient to perform duties. Prior custodial experience is preferred. Licenses and Certificates: Requires valid California Driver’s License.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION: Employment with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District is not complete or official until applicants meet all pre-employment requirements, including Board of Trustee approval. As part of the selection process, all new employees are required to provide the following information: new employees must be fingerprinted (paid by the District); TB test (paid by the employee); social security card; picture identification; and authorization to work (I-9). EMPLOYEE BENEFITS All regular employees who work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week are entitled to the following fringe benefits (effective on the first of the month following employment). The District offers several options for Medical benefits—SISC Blue Shield and SISC Anthem Blue Cross; three options for Dental Care—Delta Dental, and Vision Care--Vision Service Plan (VSP) for employee and dependents, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, and sick leave coverage for employee only. Classified employees are required to join the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) and as such contribute up to 7% of their monthly salary to PERS on a pre-tax basis. PAY DAYS: MSHS employees are paid on the 30th of each month.
