Job Summary

The Director of Nursing Programs will provide the leadership and drive to ensure that students attain their educational goals and objectives within the (1) Nurse Assistant (NATP) and the (2) Vocational Nurse (VNTP) Training Programs. The Director of Nursing Programs provides direct program oversight for both programs. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following: administrative policies and regulatory compliance; clinical sites and partnerships; curriculum development and approval; faculty/staff assessment, monitoring, and professional development; program budget and purchasing; program accreditation, efficacy, and data metrics; pupil evaluation, records, and support; safety and welfare of stakeholders; and systematic processes for continuous improvement.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & TRAINING - Career Technical Educational Teaching Credential, including English Second Language Certification. (Refer to job description for details.) - Hold a current California active license as a Registered Nurse; and a baccalaureate degree from an accredited-approved school; and have a minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse; one year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof, in a state-approved, registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or a minimum of three years of experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five years; or one year of experience as a licensed nurse providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility in addition to one year of experience planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs in nursing; or two years of full-time experience as a licensed nurse, at least one year of which must be in the provision of direct patient care in a nursing facility. - Successful candidate must qualify for, apply, and be approved by the California Department of Public Health as the Program Director and the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians as the Director of Nursing. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of the California Designated Subjects Supervision & Coordination or the Five-Year Preliminary or Clear Administrative Services Credential • Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or related field • Google Educator Levels 1 & 2 Certification • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Instructor Certification LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES • Current California active license as a Registered Nurse is required. • A valid California Class C Driver’s License, the ability to maintain insurability status, and access to personal and reliable transportation are required.
