River Oak Charter School is a K-8 school serving approximately 24 students in the beautiful area of Northern California. We are a Waldorf inspired program that emphasizes creativity and exploration of a wide variety of enrichment areas.. The ROCS’ Educational Specialist is an integral part of the school’s instructional leadership team and responsible for overseeing the program of children with mental, psychological, learning, behavioral or physical disabilities. With specialized expertise in the instruction of students with special learning needs within the mainstream classroom, the Specialist collaborates with the site principal and teachers to ensure that the needs of all students are met. The Coordinator works under the direction of the school site principal to develop a comprehensive suite of resources and processes for the identification, placement, and support of students across the spectrum of academic ability. In addition, the Special Education Coordinator will maintain and monitor special education data for the school site.
