Serving over 60 square miles of San Diego's East County, Cajon Valley Union School District offers personalized education, with programs that develop students into happy kids, in healthy relationships, on a path to gainful employment; making El Cajon the best place to live, work, play and raise a family. The District has approximately 16,500 students at 26 schools ( 1 high school, 5 middle schools and 19 elementary schools). District is largely urban in nature with some rural areas. Regardless of what our employees’ needs are, we meet them with the personalized attention only a caring school district can provide.
The District offers breakfast and lunch at all schools, at no charge, through the Community Eligibility Program. The District's Child Nutrition Services department prepares approximately 23,000 meals and snacks a day, which includes meals and snacks for preschools, vending to local private schools, afterschool enrichment programs and district catering.
The Child Nutrition Services department operates with an annual budget of $14.5 million, with a staff of 170 supporting our schools, warehouse, Logistics and at a centralized kitchen/facility.
Cajon Valley Union School District offers excellent benefits including medical, dental, and life insurance as well as generous vacation, holiday and sick leave pay.
