Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.

SCOE Para Educator Severe Application Must be at least 18 years of age EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience in working with children or individuals with disabilities. Copy of SCOE Para Educator Proficiency Test certificate OR one of the following: SCOE ESSA /NCLB test certificate, CBEST, or transcripts showing date AA Degree or higher was awarded The following are NOT required at the time of application but will be required if offered employment: *Department of Justice Fingerprint clearance *Tuberculosis Clearance *Physical/Drug Screen clearance
