Job Summary

Actively participate in ongoing monitoring and program development. Read, understand, interpret, and apply written and oral instructions. Interact and communicate effectively with boards, councils, community agencies, staff members and consumers; ability to facilitate/lead meetings. Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with co-workers, clients, and the public. Understand and use a relationship based approach when working with families. Communicated effectively with families and community agency staff. Conduct 90 minute weekly home visits consisting of developmentally appropriate activities. Model effective positive parenting skills. Assist parents in setting child and family goals; plan and prepare lessons that assist parents in achieving their goals. Provide essential information relative to child development, health, nutrition and mental health in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards. Maintain accurate written records. Link parents to appropriate community services. Plan and conduct group socializations. Participate in meetings, training and professional development activities. Adhere to policies, rules, and regulations as they relate to Early Head Start and MCOE. Execute decisions of the Superintendent. Exhibit and demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of employees and program families.

High school diploma or GED. Active Early Head Start parent at time of hire. At least 18 years old. Current health screening. TB clearance. Hold a valid automobile operator’s license. Proof of current automobile insurance is required if using personal vehicle for job duties or any MCOE business. Fingerprinting required. Fingerprints must clear DOJ & FBI Live Scan.
