The mission of CCEMC is to promote and expand proven best practices associated with dual enrollment that develop and sustain supportive environments to strengthen K-12 and college partnerships, enabling high school students to transition successfully to post-secondary institutions college and career ready, with substantial college units earned through dual enrollment. CCEMC is a California public benefit corporation and is classified as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, a corporation dedicated to the advancement of dual enrollment for the benefit of the students of California.

Job Summary

In Fall 2022, the board convened to identify future goals for the organization, including becoming the leading entity that educators in California and beyond consult in relation to all aspects of dual enrollment, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) programming and outcomes. The board is seeking an exemplary candidate to hire as Executive Director who will help make that vision a reality and who will actively participate in and contribute to our conversations and policy changes as we integrate updated strategies in all areas of DEIA. CCEMC seeks an Executive Director who is highly committed to providing support to the advancement of dual enrollment models across the state that have proven to serve and enhance the opportunities for under-represented and disproportionately impacted youth. The Executive Director will support the core values and the mission of CCEMC, including our evolving engagement with DEIA efforts. The Executive Director will be adept at contributing based on both their lived experience and their in-depth understanding of the students we serve. The Executive Director will serve as a candid and mindful leader, an attentive collaborator, and a committed steward of DEIA efforts that benefit and support our students and communities. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is evaluated by the Board of Directors.

The Executive Director will be thoroughly committed to CCEMC’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience.

Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
  • Advanced degree, with at least 5 years of Dual Enrollment experience; track record of effectively leading an educational focused LEA, college, school, or organization; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth
  • A dedication and understanding of Dual Enrollment and the policies and laws associated with Dual Enrollment as dictated by the CA Educational Code
  • Experience in pursuing, achieving, and managing grant funding
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach, manage, and develop high-performing teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-direction
