  • Experience: three years of increasingly responsible secretarial or administrative assistant experience involving frequent public contact, supplemented by successful completion of an administrative assistant, office management, or secretarial training program.

          THE POSITION The Santa Clara County Office of Education is now accepting applications for Administrative Assistant IV. Under the supervision of an assigned Director III, performs a variety of complex secretarial and administrative assistant duties to relieve the Director III of administrative and clerical detail; plans, coordinates and organizes day-to-day office operations and activities; coordinates flow of communications and information for the Director III; prepares and maintains a variety of manual and automated records and reports related to assigned activities. The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for February 6, 2023. Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an in-basket assessment, tentatively scheduled for February 10, 2023. Those who pass the in-basket exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination (structured interview) with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for February 16, 2023. Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list. Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for February 27, 2023. Candidates will be invited over email to participate in examination and selection steps, using the email supplied within their Governmentjobs.com applications, or as updated by candidates in their Governmentjobs.com master profiles.
