THE POSITION: The Coordinator III, ELD Programs, shall provide technical, specialized, consultative, advisory, supervisory and planning services for development of local capacity for local educational agency (LEA) achievement and continuous improvement through on-site visits and regional events, especially as related to English learners and the English Learner Roadmap, including coaching and capacity building for systemic improvement and development of federal program plans and plan implementation using the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and LCAP Addendum with a focus on support for LEA stakeholder engagement, parental involvement, community engagement for meaningful participation in district and school governance, and selection of areas of focus and specific actions and to coordinate English learner supports with other programs, and connect county offices of education and school districts within the defined geographic area to resources or expertise within the California Statewide System of Support as a resource to school districts at the county and state level in the area Title III guidelines and regulations and services to English Learners. Coordinator III/Title III will coordinate the Title III budget; plan and conduct special studies and workshops; monitor Federal and state legislation and provide interpretation and guidance; coordinate, monitor, and review Title III services with local, county, state, and federal agencies; and perform other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience that would be likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related and progressive educational administrative experiences, with at least three years in public school setting as a site level principal. Other administrative experience may include district and/or county-level administrative positions in K-12 education. Professional development experience in the field of instruction for English learners, Multilingual learners, and/or World Language learners is required. Teaching experience with diverse populations is desirable. Education: Equivalent to a Master’s degree in education or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (Must attach a detailed certification/credential with document number to application): • Possess and maintain a valid Administrative Service Credential • Possess and maintain a valid California Teaching Credential. • Possess a full English Learner authorization authorizing instruction in Departmentalized English Language Development such as a BCC, LDS, CLAD or BCLAD (Must attach certification/credential with document number to application.).
