POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Instructional Assistant, Special Education is done for the purpose(s) of assisting (under direct supervision) in the supervision and instruction of special education students; relieving teachers of clerical tasks, assisting students by providing and developing students adaptive and behavioral skills. Instructional Assistant, Special Education, includes positions for classes such as Autism; Deaf/Hard of Hearing; Emotionally Disturbed; Intellectual Disability-Moderate; Intellectual Disability-Severe; Orientation and Mobility; Orthopedically Impaired; and Visually Impaired. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Job related experience is desired REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED TESTING: Once this position closes, your application will be screened for minimum qualifications. Those who meet the minimum qualifications will be e-mailed an invitation for testing. **Applicants with 48 or more eligible semester units from an accredited college or university may be able to forego testing by attaching transcripts for verification to their online EdJoin application prior to the position closing date/time. Copies of diplomas will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.**
