The Chief Executive Officer/Superintendent (CEO) is the overall senior leader of iLEAD California (iCA) and will report to the iLEAD California Charters 1 Board of Directors,. This role is a unique opportunity for an innovative education executive to lead a K-12 school with diverse hybrid programs directly and to deliver shared services to the network of six schools serving 6,000 students in online, independent study, and site-based programs throughout Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Kern, and San Bernardino Counties. The network includes iLEAD Hybrid (iLEAD Exploration, iLEAD Antelope Valley Exploration, and iLEAD Antelope Valley Studio), Empower Generations (serving pregnant and parenting teens), iLEAD Agua Dulce, iLEAD Online Charter School, iLEAD Lancaster, and iLEAD’s founding school, Santa Clarita Valley International School. Understanding the big picture, articulating a shared educational vision, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring effective daily operations are essential skills for this position. The CEO will work closely with the executive team, the network of schools’ leadership and their governing boards, school community educational partners, legislators, and taxpayers. The CEO will manage the needs of the charter compliance requirements, within the confines of state allocations, as well as keep in accord with state and federal law. Overseeing personnel matters, managing fiscal responsibility, district, and authorizer relationships, and guiding the educational model are essential duties of the CEO. The CEO is called upon regularly to serve as the face of the schools and network. Having strong interpersonal skills is an essential quality for the CEO so that s/he can develop positive relationships with educational partners, board members and iCA employees.
