SUMMARY: Under general direction of the Assistant Site Supervisor or Site Supervisor I, assists with a variety of recreation activities at a childcare center. Performs a variety of manual, clerical, and leadership tasks. Provides mentorship and support to Recreation Leader I. Supervises and engages children, completes specific tasks as assigned and communicates positively with the children and families. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following but no limited to: • Assists staff with recreation activities • Assists with the organization of games and maintains discipline at indoor and outdoor play areas • Assists in conducting special recreation activities such as arts and crafts, dancing and drama • Assists a Site Supervisor, Assistant Site Supervisor, and/or Senior Recreation Leader in conducting and supervising daycare or day camp activities • May act as a chaperone for field trips or other activities needing supervision. • Assists in the maintenance of daily attendance records • Observes necessary precautions to secure the safety of recreation participants and spectators and renders routine first aid in case of minor injury • Responsible for planning and implementing Recreation Activities • Maintains professional attitude, communication and appearance • Demonstrates age appropriate behavior and language • Moves and sets up equipment • Performs light-cleaning including; vacuuming, sweeping, wiping counters/tables, etc. • Must attend all mandatory trainings as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Recreation Leader II does not have supervisory responsibilities over employees; however, it is expected that they assist in the training and mentoring of the Recreation Leader I.
