Job Summary

We have one Special Day Class Instructional Assistant opening at Lake Forest Elementary School. Work schedule Mon.-Fri., 6 hours/day, 193 days per year starting as soon as possible through May. The schedule is 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. All school holidays and breaks off. Earn holiday pay, vacation and sick leave. Position is eligible for optional medical insurance and District paid dental and vision insurance for employee and their dependents. Includes CalPERS retirement system membership. Help us prepare our students for a successful life. The Special Day Class instructional assistant will provide instructional support and assistance to Special Day Class teachers and students assigned to the Special Day Class program including performing supportive prescriptive specialized curriculum, modifications, accommodations, and/or behavior management designed by and under the direction of the Special Day Class teacher. Provide clerical and administrative support by keeping records, preparing materials, and/or monitoring students.

Candidates interested in this position must meet ESSA standards and provide proof of the following: 1. A high school diploma or the equivalent, AND a. Two years of college (48 units), OR b. A. A. degree (or higher), OR c. Pass a local (County Office of Education) assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. Also required prior to employment is a DOJ/FBI Live Scan clearance and TB assessment clearance. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required or a willingness to test weekly. The District provides the tests.
