JOB FAIR INFORMATION: Applicants will receive an email confirmation and possibly an invitation to test or interview. ATTEND the JOB FAIR October 19, 2022 from 12:30 - 4:00 pm at SCOE 1100 H Street, Modesto, CA 95354. Bring ID for entrance.
Hours and Locations: Para Educators work from 3 to 6 hours per day at various locations throughout Stanislaus County including but not limited to cities such as Ceres, Empire, Modesto, Oakdale and Riverbank.
EDJOIN WORKSHOP: Do you need help creating an Edjoin account? Attend one of our workshops on October 6th. 1:00pm-3:30pm or 3:30-5:30pm. Let us know you are coming-register now on the link below!
Education and Experience: Substitutes do not require experience. Permanent placement requires experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. List any VOLUNTEER, PERSONAL or SCHOOL EXPERIENCE on the application.

EdJoin SCOE Job Fair Para Educator Application - Must be at least 18 years of age - Attach SCOE Para Educator Proficiency Certificate or other qualifying document (NCLB/ESSA Certificate, transcripts showing a minimum of 48 units, AA Degree or higher) **If you do not attach a qualifying document, you will be invited to test** ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS: The following documents will be required prior to employment: - Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) Para Educator Proficiency certificate (or equivalent) - Department of Justice Fingerprint clearance - Tuberculosis Skin Test clearance

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.

      TYPES OF CLASSES: Autism, Community School, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Emotionally Disturbed, Independent Study, Juvenile Hall, Learning Handicapped, Life Skills, Multiply Handicapped, Physically Handicapped, Resource, Severely Handicapped, Special Day Class, Transitions, 1:1 Assignment (Working with a specific student), Classroom Assignment (Assisting teacher in the classroom). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting light-medium weighted objects. Dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate specialized apparatus and standard office and classroom equipment. Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist students. Sitting to read a variety of materials and monitor student activities.
