Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and four years bus driving experience. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California Bus Driver Instructor Certificate. Valid unrestricted California driver’s license with appropriate passenger and air brake endorsements. Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency. *Willing to provide certification class for qualified applicants who currently do not possess the School Bus Certificate. Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Program: All persons selected by a hiring supervisor are subject to pre-employment testing, and written verification of participation in prior drug testing programs. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: Street conditions and roads on designated driving routes. Provisions of the Motor Vehicle Code, the Education Code and other regulations applicable to the operation of vehicles in transporting students and faculty. Operation of a bus. Proper use of street maps. Basic record-keeping. Concepts of the appropriate discipline and control of students. Appropriate safety precautions and procedures. Curriculum requirements for behind-the-wheel and driver classroom bus training and refresher classes. Principles and practices of supervision and training. * Full Time Equivalent
