The District has approximately 1,100 employees. The Westminster School District is recognized for high academic achievement and serves about 8,200 students, grades Preschool-8th. The district offers a broad scope of supplemental instructional programs including two dual immersion programs, GATE academy, music and band, exploratory STEAM/Coding programs, and state-of-the-art science and art facilities. Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, plan, organize and participate in District accounting and fiscal record management; perform a variety of complex, technical accounting functions; prepare and maintain a variety of State, Federal and District financial records and reports.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination equivalent to: (1) Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business administration, or a closely related field, and (2) four years of increasingly responsible experience involving account and financial record-keeping.
The Examination: Candidates may be examined on: Ability to type at least 35 words per minute; knowledge of financial statements and accounting reports; methods, procedures and terminology used in accounting and auditing work. Standard American English usage and spelling; public contact work; as well as ability to understand and interpret information, follow directions, and work well with others. Applications may be screened to select the most qualified candidates. Applicants must attain a passing score of 80% on each part of the examination in order to be placed on the eligibility list. Should a large number of candidates pass the written exam, a higher passing score than 80% may be required to progress.
